FYI, a travel website called Viscape is offering a "Be a Travel Writer" contest (http://blog.viscape.com/2008/07/so-you-wanna-be-a-travel-writer/) with a trip to Belize as the prize, and the discussion forums also have threads about volunteer destinations and environmentally conscious travel.
